W.E.S SCHOLARSHIP

The W.O.M.E.N Endowment Scholarship (WES) is presented by the Women Organizing Movements Empowering Nations' club of the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc. Our motto is "Lifting as we climb" and we feel strongly about helping others, especially with the continuation of their education. Please see below for eligibility and scholarship requirements. 

Eligibility 

  • Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior attending an accredited school.  

  • Current cumulative minimum grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.

  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.

Answer the questions

Resilience is often defined as the ability to bounce back from challenges and adversity. Describe a specific instance in your life where you faced a significant obstacle or setback. Able to demonstrate leadership abilities. How did you handle the situation, and what steps did you take to overcome it? Reflect on how this experience has shaped your perspective, personal growth, and approach to future challenges.

  • Be specific about the obstacle or setback you encountered. 

  • Explain your thought process and actions taken to address the challenge. 

  • Highlight the lessons learned and how they have influenced your current outlook. 

  • Upload/or email a 60-second video 

  • Write 200 words or less
